Book 10

Book 10: Murder at woodward Retreat

April 1931

Lowan needs a vacation—but, as usual, the forces of fate conspire to prevent it.  Seeking a quiet location to recuperate from several difficult weeks, Lowan and Marx rent a cabin at Woodward Retreat. An annoying host, unfriendly neighbors, and less-than-perfect weather won’t spoil their vacation.  But when a woman claims that her husband killed a man, their urge to investigate overrides their vacation plans.  Her husband’s arrival throws another wrench into the works—especially after a police officer is found murdered in the woods.

S. E. Grosskopf’s writing is strongly influenced by the old pulp fiction magazines and Golden Age radio dramas of the 1930s-1950s. If you like fast-paced action and mystery with a dash of urban fantasy and quirkiness, then you’ll love these books. This is the tenth book in the series. The books follow chronologically. Reading them in order is recommended.
